Not only do you get to see and experience the amazing bioluminescent creatures in the water, you also get an awesome view of the sky. There is so little light pollution, that you are able to see shooting stars and even a satellite pass overhead. The guides are great and very knowledgeable.

We were in Titusville for our 27th wedding anniversary. We recently moved to Florida and my husband is fascinated with the rocket launches; there was a SpaceX launch scheduled for October 14th. Wanting to make it a little vacay, we came up to Titusville on the 12th and scheduled the kayak tour for the evening of the 13th. We took the 9:30 pm time slot so that if the bioluminescent creatures were active, we would see them in the dark. We showed up at the kayak launch site 1/2 hr. early, as instructed on the website. Please be aware that the drive to the launch site is on a long and very dark two lane road with no lights and then you turn onto a long, dark dirt road to finally reach the launch site (a little scary for me, not my husband, but well worth the drive). Upon arrival, we were greeted by our guide, Chaz, and his female assistant (my apologies, I cannot recall her name). After the introductions, Chaz asked if we had sprayed ourselves with bug spray; we had. Be aware, you will be eaten alive if you do not thoroughly coat your entire body with bug spray. We thought we had done a good job, but got bitten quit a bit upon our return to shore from the kayak tour. The tour itself was amazing. It was dark, the waters were calm, with a very light breeze. The glass bottom kayaks were very comfortable and easy to enter and exit. You could not have better guides than Chaz and his assistant; Chaz has an infectious enthusiasm for what he does. He stopped every so often to talk about the wildlife in the refuge, as well as to gather some bioluminescent materials for us to hold in our hands - so cool! Chaz also shared interesting tidbits about the Titusville area. Unfortunately, and no fault of Chaz's, hurricane Ian had recently come through the area, as well as cooler weather, both of which resulted in a lack of readily visible bioluminescent matter. However, Chaz and his assistant showed us how to use our paddles, and our hands, to "stir up" some exciting bioluminescent activity! Again, awesome. I will tell you that I had never been in a kayak and my husband only once before, but we did fine. Chaz's assistant noted that we were falling back a bit, so she hung back with us and showed us different ways to view the water for activity, which was very kind of her to do. This is a must-do if you are anywhere in the area. I want to add the Chaz was not only an extremely knowledgeable guide, he was also a very compassionate guide. There were 9 people scheduled for the 9:30 pm tour; 4 of us showed up on time. Chaz informed us that he had received an email from the other party of 5, stating that they would be a "little late." They showed up an hour late! I think it was very nice of Chaz to wait that long for them. In addition, when they did show up, after the safety orientation, all of us were put in our kayaks and waiting in the water when one of the persons in the party of 5 became hesitant to participate, not wanting to get into the kayak. Chaz was extremely patient and kind to this person, neither trying to encourage or discourage him. This person eventually decided not to participate and stayed behind. Clear Kayak is lucky to have Chaz and his assistant as employees and we were lucky to have them as our guides. Thank you for a great, memorable experience!

We got to see lots of comb jellies, dolphins, and a manatee. We had Chaz as our tour guide and he was great. He was very knowledgeable about the area and the wildlife and gave us a really fun and interesting experience.
