Cette excursion consiste à trouver les meilleurs endroits pour les lamantins et à utiliser nos kayaks transparents pour vous offrir la meilleure vue possible sans vous mouiller ! Crystal River est connue comme la «capitale mondiale des lamantins». Lors de cette visite, nous voulons que nos invités découvrent les lamantins dans leur habitat naturel. Crystal River est alimentée par des dizaines de sources naturelles, ce qui en fait un point chaud pendant les mois « les plus froids » de la Floride. Entre novembre et mars, des centaines de lamantins migrent vers les sources pour chercher refuge et rester au chaud. Nous ne pouvons pas contrôler où ils pourraient se trouver dans la région, mais nos guides expérimentés vous emmèneront là où ils sont le plus actifs ! Alors que les lamantins sont notre objectif principal de cette visite, nous voyons souvent des dauphins, des poissons, des tortues, des oiseaux et bien plus encore ! Cette aventure guidée de 2 à 2,5 heures comprend une pagaie détendue à travers Kings Bay jusqu'à Hunter Springs, Jurassic Springs et au-delà à Crystal River. The weather was a bit cool and the crowds were larger than normal as it was a Sunday at the end of spring break. The clear kayaks were new and beautiful. You basically sit on the floor on a slightly padded seat. The trip up to Three Sisters Spring was nice, but we went off near a lot of houses in search of Manatees. This was expected and definitely the goal of a March trip. The springs were very nice and the water was clear and warm near the headwaters. The Springs themselves were blocked off to help protect the manatees from the masses. There were kayakers, us included, snorkelers, pontoon boats and paddle boarders. It was a busy weekend there. Our guide was pleasant and knowledgeable, but didn’t really provide much information unless asked. We did get to see manatees including a baby one up close. I hope to go back when it’s a bit less crowded. The kayaks were nice and hopefully will not get scratched too much in normal use.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review! We appreciate your honesty about your experience and are glad you were still able to have a good time regardless of the crowds. Since it was spring break, it is pretty much expected to be busy every March as springtime approaches. We hope you come back to paddle with us in the future so we can try again!

The Get Up and Go Kayaking experience, led by Josh, was excellent. Our guide was intentional, knowledgable, and relational. Overall the experience was positive. This isn't a river experience, it is a short trek heavy with other water traffic including kayaks, boats, swimmers and snorkelers. We spent more time traversing the human component than kayaking the river. When we didn't find manatees in the springs, it left the tour feeling short of experience and time. Josh was creative in his ways to extend the journey, but it didn't live up tot he 2-2.5 hour expectation. Our family was glad we tried this excursion, as it created some good memories.

Crystal River is definitely different than a traditional river, as it is fed by over 80 springs within different inlets and canals. Went at the end of manatee season but, our guide Josh was still able to find several manatees for us to observe. We also got to swim in an amazing spring and generally just had a great time. If you can get on Josh’s tour, you’ll have a great time.
