Clear Kayak Tours sur la rivière Chassahowitzka

Aperçu
Known affectionately as "The Chaz" by those who frequent its banks, the Chassahowitzka River is a hidden jewel fed by natural springs, teeming with life and draped in verdant flora. As you drift through its serene waters in our clear kayaks, each paddle stroke offers a glimpse into a thriving underwater world. Beneath you, manatees might meander, otters frolic, and schools of fish flit through the shadows, while above, eagles and ospreys cut through the sky, adding a majestic touch to the vivid landscape.

À quoi s'attendre
1
Chassahowitzka National Wildlife Refuge
This tour begins and ends at Seven Sisters Campground located on a canal just off the main river. We’ll paddle to Seven Sisters Springs, where the natural underwater limestone creates several small cave tunnels that connect to each other, making it possible to dive from one opening to the next! Then, paddle downstream to Baird Creek, a winding stream that is only accessible by small paddle crafts and is like a scene from Jurassic Park!

We had a great time! Cami, our guide, had the ultimate personality to make the experience relaxing yet informative. She was so helpful in answering my kids' questions and showing us a swimming hole. On our trip, we were able to see a manatee, an alligator, cormorants, and lots of fish.

Our guide, Yas took us on an exceptional tour. He was extremely knowledgeable about the area and we were the only people in the area with 20+ manatees casually floating around us. If you are looking for a tour away from the busy-ness of Crystal River, book this! What an epic experience.

Had the opportunity to see and be around lots of manatees. Our guide was very helpful in coaching the great to give the manatees plenty of space, and to be mindful of how to respect their fragility. Was disappointed with the number of other kayaking groups and individuals on the river. Some areas got pretty crowded. We did not see much wildlife, other than the manatees. The kayak seats could have been of higher quality and a little more comfortable. Our guide, Cami, was great and tried her best. I didn’t find the setting to be as pristine and natural as was advertised
