Your Deluxe Manatee Swim Tour provides a unique opportunity to view Florida's Nature Coast. CRWS is a proud member of the Save the Manatee Club Guardian Guide Program - promoting passive observation and responsible eco tourism. Your tour will take you past a state Archaeological Park, a State Nature Preserve and to a National Wildlife Refuge. You may view up to 57 varieties of birds, river otters, deer, pigs dolphins, a variety of fish and turtles besides the opportunity to swim in the area of the gentle giants manatees.

Dear Tina and the rest of the Mason family, The staff and owners of Crystal River Watersports can't tell you how much we appreciate your continued support. Although swimming with the manatees is often viewed as a "bucket list" item, many people completely fall in love with our gentle giants and the one time visit becomes multiple trips to swim with these amazing animals. When our guests come back more than once, they get a better understanding of the manatees and our unique eco-system here in Crystal River. Our captains and guides attend multiple training sessions each year, and assist with manatee heath assessments and rescues. This means that they not only can help the manatees, but also so we can share our love and knowledge with our guests and the experts. Watch a great experience with a really lovely owner and tour guides. They were determined to find us some manatees to swim with even though it wasn't "the season" (which is around November to March) and there are not the 800-1,000 that are there at that time. We got to see a mother and baby right next to the pontoon and swam with 2 of these wonderful creatures. The water is a constant 72° year round and they supply you with wetsuits and snorkels. They were also very concerned about adherence to the rules for conservation of the manatees which we appreciated. They also took us to dive where one of the springs comes up from the earth which was really fascinating The area where the manatees were congregating was actually a series of canals running through a residential area which was surprising but this is where they gather and the best place to see them when it's not the season

We consider ourselves very lucky to live in an area where the manatees like to live, and to be able to share the experience of swimming with them with our guests. As one of only two shops with the Guardian Guide Designation from the Save the Manatee Club, we greatly appreciate it when our guests follow the rules for how to behave around manatees. Your group was fantastic, and it makes for a much more peaceful and enjoyable experience because the manatees feel safe, and are more likely to stay close to you, and to possibly choose to interact. The manatees do travel where ever they like, and sometimes they prefer to hang out in the canals near home. The community in general loves our gentle giants, and are protective of them, so they do feel safe hanging out in residential areas.
