Your Deluxe Manatee Swim Tour provides a unique opportunity to view Florida's Nature Coast. CRWS is a proud member of the Save the Manatee Club Guardian Guide Program - promoting passive observation and responsible eco tourism. Your tour will take you past a state Archaeological Park, a State Nature Preserve and to a National Wildlife Refuge. You may view up to 57 varieties of birds, river otters, deer, pigs dolphins, a variety of fish and turtles besides the opportunity to swim in the area of the gentle giants manatees.

My husband and I booked a manatee swim tour just at the end of the peak season for manatees in the crystal river area. We were nervous we wouldn’t see any of Jen but our captain (Vince) and our guide (Dakota) our in so much effort to make sure we had the best possible experience and we did indeed swim with a manatee. Vince and Dakota put the needs of the manatees first and foremost while still providing us with an amazing and memorable experience! Highly recommend doing the 7:30am tour tome as it is much less busy! Thank you to Vince and Dakota for making this or most found memory on our vacation!

With it being unseasonably warm, we have fewer manatees than normal for March, but our captains are pretty good at knowing where to find our lovely, gentle giants. You are absolutely right that the early morning tours tend to be the best time to visit, and are so happy that you were able to make some wonderful memories with your husband and the manatees. Set out on a very foggy morning, but Captain Jim knows these waters like the back of his hand! As the morning progressed the fog lifted and Water guide, Dakota, and I got to swim with a juvenile manatee for almost an hour. He came up to us, rolled on his back and checked us out. It was the most awesome experience ever. Thanks to Captain Jim for getting us out and back safely and Dakota, for helping me in the water and taking great photos. This company is very ecologically minded. They are also very professional, friendly and helpful.

Pat, thank you so much for the awesome review! Our staff tries very hard to make sure that our guests have a great time, while also protecting the amazing manatees that live here. Jim is great at knowing where the manatees hang out- and his knowledge of birds and other critters is phenomenal. When our guests observe passive observation the way that you did, it allows the manatees to decide what they want to do. It really does make for the best experience as the manatees are more likely to want to stay and interact when our guests simply float and let the manatee "do their thing." I am so happy that you found a curious juvenile and that it apparently really enjoyed your company. We appreciate you choosing Crystal River Watersports for your tour- and for the review. Thank you.

We went in February, which is a good time to see them. We were one of 2 boats that went out at that time. We had a good tour guide who gave us all facts and tried to spot other wildlife on the way to the manatees. The weather was unseasonably warm, but we did manage to see a few manatees. The photos the guide took were good, $30 sounds a bit pricey for photos, but we did get a USB stick shaped like a manatee with all of the photos and other ones from the previous year. It's good if you share the cost with the other people you go with too. Took me a while to get used to snorkelling but one of the captains was helpful and I learned to relax. The other tours used pool noodles to float, but this company use life jackets, which I thought was better.

Sharon, thank you so much for taking the time to write a review for us, we truly appreciate it. We are the only company in the area that does offer the snorkel vests instead of pool noodles, as we think it gives our guests better control in the water, and positions you appropriately to see the manatees while snorkeling. (When people place pool noodles under their arms, they end up being upright in the water instead of simply floating on the surface.) The manatees are such amazing creatures, we are always thrilled when visitors get to see and fall in love with them.
