Talkeetna has skyscrapers of granite and ice instead of steel. Denali, Mt. Hunter and Mt. Foraker tower above the other peaks of the Alaska Range, forming our northern horizon. Cruise up the Kahiltna glacier, right over the climbers’ base camp at 7,200 ft., and wind between these giant peaks catching breathtaking views of Denali above and Denali's most popular climbing route, the West Buttress Route below.

We weren’t able to land or see Denali like we planned, because the weather wasn’t cooperating, but the tour we took was amazing! Our pilot, Randy, was very informed on the glaciers, the topography, the climbers and the history. The ride was smooth and the views stunning. We saw a couple base camps, many of the climbers were in town waiting to get out...like the tours, problems to safely land. The K2 staff was great to deal with, gave us the option of full refund if we didn’t want to go, or of course a reduced rate for trip we were able to take. I’m glad we did! Their office and airport is walking distance from Talkteeba town, where we stayed, but I also noticed K2 vans brining their customers back and forth too.

Words hardly do justice to the surreal experience delivered by the K2 team. Our family of four absolutely rank our K2 Denali air tour to be our absolute best Alaska experience. We arrived in the mid afternoon and within 30 minutes, we were in the air. Our pilot was so friendly and professional - I had zero concerns about our safety. The tour itself was just so amazing! The views just can't be duplicated. I still can't wait to tell someone new about the experience. I think if you're traveling all the way to Alaska (1,800 miles for us), why wouldn't you spend just a little more money to take a K2 scenic flight that you'll talk about forever? I am thrilled that my teenage kids get to reflect back on the incredible experience for the rest of their lives. Thanks, K2!!
