During the end of our Alaska trip we had been planning on going on this Jeep Excursion and had been really looking forward to it. Owning a Jeep at home we had missed it whilst out on this trip!
Located in this small town in Denali, there were some cool places to see right at the front office location. Highly recommend the hot dog place right next store basically.
Upon arrival we parked at the front office at mile 238.6 and boarded the bus that picked everyone up. It was a shock to us in our mid-20's to board the bus full of retirees. It was quite the age gap surprisingly to us. Nonetheless we made conversation and met some kind people.
You essentially pick your jeep, they show you everything you need to know, and then you're on your way. The sights on the Denali Highway are unreal. Absolutely beautiful. We didn't see as much wildlife as I thought we would unfortunately, but we did get to see a few moose which was a bit exciting. Got some fantastic pictures.
I would like to say though that this trip is highly dependent on the people that you are with in your Jeep. It was my fiance' and I that were grouped with two others in the back, whom did not want to share driving and made the trip a bit more cumbersome to take in for lack of a better word.
It would have been nice to have gone in a group closer to our age or have had the car with two other friends. Obviously, this is out of their hands but I would say it brings a lot to your trip.
We ended super super late I think it was like midnight+ that we ended up getting back. Not a huge deal, was cool to see the sunset hour though out in the Denali Highway on the way back.
