This is the worse fishing trip I have ever been on. Once you pay for your ticket, you are told to report to the outside of their office at least 1 hour prior to departure time to await boarding. There are very few places to sit and since it is outside, you get really hot and sweaty and this is prior to boarding. We were on a afternoon trip which was to depart at 3:10 pm. There were two boats leaving around the same time. When the deck hand came out of the office to announce it was time to board, he didn't come over to where everybody was standing/sitting and say which boat was boarding, he just said something like "if your with me, follow me." Every person that was standing around was asking everybody else - which boat did he say was boarding. I suggest, they might come over and actually announce so that everybody can hear what they say, this would alleviate all the confusion. The trip out was a little over two hours. There was not enough places to sit, so many of the people were forced to stand. My husband, myself and the two friends with us had to stand the entire trip which turned out to be a little over 7 hours. Once we finally reached our destination, every group was assigned a cooler to place the fish which they caught. The deck hands distributed the bait to each group. We found it difficult to bait the hooks because the bait they gave you was chopped up squid and tiny pieces of some sort of trash fish. The hooks they had on the poles were so dull and short that it was very difficult to get the hooks through the squid and when you tried to put the hook through the little pieces of fish, the fish was not tough enough to stay on the hook, it would just pull apart while you were trying to keep it on the hook. After the captain finally blew the whistle to drop your lines, there were so many tangled lines that you could not fish because there were very few people that understood that when someone had a fish on their line, they needed to try to keep their line away from the person trying to land a fish. Sometime it would take 15-20 minutes to get a deck hand to help get the tangled lines taken care of. There were to few deck hands for the number of people on board. There wasn't two feet between people which meant that since the water was very rough and so many lines in the water all at once, all you did was stay tangled. There were so many kids on the boat. They were always running back and forth. Constantly running into you. I would say that at least 50% of the people on board were less than 16 years old and could barely reel in the one pound weight on the pole so, the deck hands or parent had to stop what they were doing to help the child. They did not enforce their rules such as no lines in the water until the captain blew the whistle. We were told not to take the fish off once in the boat. A deck hand could only do that. You couldn't get the attention of a deck hand, so you would have to wait for extended periods of time before you could get a deck hand to get your fish off. They seemed to always be helping children that were tangled or just helping them reel up the line that was either tangled or they were just reeling it up because they thought the reel had something on it. This took away from everybody. There were way too many people on the boat. The fish that were caught were the size of fish we previously used to fish with.
Like I said, this was the worse fishing trip I have ever been on. I would never recommend this boat.

Thank you for fishing on our party boat, Vera Marie and we appreciate your feedback from the trip. We will address your concerns with the crew but recommend you fishing on a smaller shared or private fishing charter to eliminate most of the issues you mentioned. We offer all types of fishing and would love to have you back. Take care!
