The hike was great. However, the tickets I bought on TripAdvisor were NOT accepted, so I had to purchase more tickets upon arrival.

When I finally got to the top of the crater. It was amazing. The hike is not for the faint of heart.

Glad we did the audio hike up the crater - it’s a moderate hike, easy enough for people to do in slippers but I don’t recommend it. Learned a lot about how the military used the crater to protect Hawaii. Lots of stairs and sweat - go early. The good thing about the audio tour is we got a certificate of completion at the end besides having beautiful pictures.
