Experience the thrill of riding in one of Alaska's oldest modes of transportation! The dogsled! Towns, villages and lifestyles were created using the traditional style dogs that you will meet while on your tour. Learn of the rich history of Chatanika from one of our guides while travelling through a beautiful boreal forest.
We only have 2 tour slots a day to give each group ample time. This is a small family run business and you will be greeted and guided by an owner the entire time here. We do accomidate families/large groups & single travelers! For group size requests over 6 guests please contact Howling Bay Kennel direct through their website.
Our weight limit per guest is 250lbs clothed. If you exceed the weight limit, but meet the physical requirements and can comfortably participate, we may be able to accomidate you as a single rider for a double booking fee. Thus was definitely an adventure! First of all the dogs are adorable and fluffy. They do such a good job. Tabitha (their human) is so good with them. It was so beautiful and serene. There was a moose that was nearby but thankfully she kept her distance thanks to Tabitha's quick thinking and knowledge of the local wildlife. This is a must -do when in Fairbanks!

The dog sledding was lots of fun except, it didn’t last very long. Most of the time was spent watching the owners leash up the dogs. We also were not given hot cocoa as stated in the description. Overall, fun experience but I would book with someone else if I were to do this again.

We are dog lovers to start with! She has beautiful dogs and they are well trained. She shared many stories of how she takes care of her beautiful dogs. We had fun!
