The reason for the Average Rating for this excursion is that it really wasn't much of a tour. It was a bike ride that you could have easily taken yourself along the pathway. The necessity for a knowledgeable person was, in my opinion, to assist anyone who had difficulty with the bike. The bikes are Pedego Element hub-assist e-bikes that have a throttle.

Thanks for the feedback! I am sorry that the excursion did not exceed your expectations, and you are correct that this experience primarily uses the designated bike path. The reason that we chose this route for the tour is that it is good/safe for all levels of riders. I can certainly appreciate that it might be a little basic for a more advanced rider. We have many self-guided options for folks like yourself. If you are still in the area, I am happy to provide you with a free rental and give you some self -guided options that you might enjoy. Unfortunately, most of these options involve a good bit of either bike lane usage or off-road terrain. Since this riding style makes some folks nervous, we did not choose these routes for our mixed tour groups. We also have customizable audio tours coming, but our smart helmets are on backorder. Hopefully they will be here soon! Shoot me an email at [email protected] if you would like that complementary rental and additional route recommendations.

The bikes were fun! It was plenty long enough. My husband’s bike quit working about a mile before getting done with the tour. While waiting to start the tour a couple came back and one of their bikes had quit also. So not sure if this is a regular problem. This was fun, but I think the word “tour” is a bit misleading. It is a guided bike ride. We stopped at the bottom of a bridge to look out. We went to the Boneyard Beach and were able to ride on it. My expectations were that we would ride to key places around the island and make stops all along. It is not that. It is a ride out to that particular beach, depending on tides you may or may not get to ride along that beach, then you head back.

We had our mechanic take a look yesterday, and the LCD screen did go out on your husband's bike. This is actually the first time that has happened. We have replaced the LCD screen and it's working again. I am so sorry about that happening! If you would like me to refund part of his tour, I would be happy to do that; or I could provide a free rental at another time. Just send me an email at [email protected] and I can take care of it for you.

Great ride to Talbot’s Island. Steve was very helpful. Scenery is beautiful. Three bikes for 3 1/2 hours. Worth it.
