Neither the tides nor the weather was very cooperative. A negative low tide with very cold temps. Dan took us out and we had a great morning. We were supposed to get into kayaks but all agreed too cold for that. We mentioned to Dan that we had been to the History Museum on Marco Island and learned about the Calusa Indians that had settled on the West Coast of Florida and on Marco and surrounding Islands. Dan took us to a site where there was evidence of shell tools used by the Calusa and then to an island where the Calusa had built up the island with shells. All very interesting. We also were able to see and photograph lots of birds from Ospreys to giant white pelicans. Dan was a great tour guide and we would seek him out again for another tour.

My girlfriend and I did the mangrove kayak tunnel tour in the morning with Carter. In the afternoon, Dan took us on a boat tour. Both experiences were phenomenal. Dan and Carter were excellent guides who were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We learned a lot, had a great time, and saw impressive wildlife in their natural habitat. On the kayak tour, Carter did a great job explaining the ecosystem, with a particular focus on the local birds and flora. We also had a close (but safe) encounter with an alligator on our kayaks. On the boat tour, Dan aptly explained the migration and nesting patterns of several birds, and even discussed the behavior of a few individual birds that he is familiar with, including a family of ospreys. On the boat trip, we saw a manatees pop their heads out of the water, and Dan was so experienced that he found a group of wild dolphins he has encountered in the past and enticed the whole group to play in the wake of the boat, with many of them jumping out of the water. We visited a couple islands and learned a lot about the history of the everglades and the Calusa Native Americans. We saw pottery fragments, shells that were used as tools, and conch shells with holes in them, evidently eaten hundreds or even thousands of years ago by the Calusa Native Americans. At the end of the trip, Dan was nice enough to let us stay late to watch the sunset over the horizon on the water. We would recommend this experience to anyone. The whole experience, from booking to rowing, was easy and fun. It was definitely worth the drive out of Miami.

Thank you for your review! The combination of the morning Mangrove Tunnel Kayak Eco Tour followed by the afternoon Everglades National Park (Boating) Expedition is absolutely the best whole-day Everglades Experience that we can recommend.

I found so much comfort in what we did. I enjoyed relaxing for once in my life and just enjoyed everything about this trip. Ed knew everything we asked him about from history of the area, to birds and other animals, as well as other places we had to visit. Often times you ask someone "what else do we have to see here before we leave" and they will tell you a place to eat... Ed pointed us right in the direction of some awesome nature and we were happy with that as well. Overall the trip was awesome, our tour was amazing, we got to see quite a bit, and we got so many cool sea shells! Thanks so much for this
