We believe a meal on Kauai should be unique and represent the abundance, flavors and cultures of the island.! Our experience offers a showcase of what grows on Kauai in our regenerative food forest: A collection of exotic and delicious foods brought to Hawai`i from all corners of the globe. Coffee, pineapple, tree tomato, kava, mamak'i, heart of palm, papaya, bananas, and more! More importantly it demonstrates a model for how food can be grown in harmony with nature, planted in concert so there is no need for imported fertilizers and pesticides. The tour concludes with a family style meal to savor and enjoy while celebrating the delicious diversity that exists on Kauai all while exploring our mission here at Common Ground. 100% Island sourced because it should be, from the cooking oil to the seasonings. Relax into a perfect island evening in a beautiful tropical farm setting.

Our visit started with the beautiful walk on Common Grounds property to the waterfall. It was raining lightly and complimentary umbrellas were provided. The group was very small and intimate. I can’t remember the young man’s name who gave our very educational tour, but he was great. Full of passion, enthusiasm and loved what he is doing. Initially we were a bit apprehensive about so many new and different foods sourced right from our tour and the land. I have to say it was one of the best meals we had while in Kauai. We were also worried about how our tummies might digest these unique foods. All three of us said the next morning how great we felt. I’m excited that Common Ground has a vision to be able to feed larger quantities of locals and visitors to the island with locally sourced meats and foods. I’d definitely make a trip to Common Ground again.

This is a wonderful experience on Kauai's North Shore. The educational tour of the permafarm is amazing - we learned a great deal of cutting edge information regarding farming that is self sustaining and regenerating. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable. Add to that the incredible meal (not just pupus as the brochure claims) we ate and it was a 5 star experience all around.

Touring their ecologically sound and diverse gardens was so informative! The gardens are beautiful. The food was amazing. Highly recommend this walking tour because I learned a lot and more importantly, it helps support an important ecological endeavor!
