The bungee jump in Monteverde consists of jumping off a tram, which moves on cables operated by a motor, into the center of a valley. The extreme jump is 143 meters off the ground. Jumper's minimum weight is 50kg. and maximum weight is 113kg. Transportation is included.

I wasn't going to do ziplining. I'd done it before. Through chance events I ended up going and was overall incredibly impressed!! 12 cables + Superman and Tarzan swing...the Tarzan swing is worth the $40 alone. If you want to go big, do the bungee jump or the extreme Tarzan. I kind of wish I did them, but...on a budget you can't do everything. Overall, the guides were great, the ziplines were safe but scary / fun and I would have really regretted my trip to Monteverde if I didn't do this. Go for it!!

After doing canopy tour in the morning my teenage daughter wanted to bungee jump. While it wasn't an activity in my mind I didn't want her to do it by herself so I signed up too. She went first and I went out on the next trolley. Perhaps the most fun I've ever had being that frightened. For me it was having complete faith in your guides, the equipment before lunging off the platform into a never ending space. It took several hours to wipe the grin off my face.

I planned my trip to Costa Rica around this zip line tour and it did not disappoint! The views were spectacular in the Santa Elena Cloud Forest. 12 zip lines, longest one is 1 km called the Superman and you really do fly like a bird in the sky at a height of 180 metres. You are harnessed in head first, on your stomache with your feet harnessed behind you as well. Guides tucked my hands behind my back so I would go even faster. Also included is a super rappel line, and a tarzan swing which is the bomb! Guides were friendly and very helpful. Our group was large, about 50 people. Takes about 2.5 hours including hiking of 2.8 kms between lines. The hike to the last superman line is at least 15 minutes, all uphill, with all your gear on, and carrying the steel pulleys. It was blazing hot in January with a humidex of 51C so this hike is hard if you are not fit. The *only* disappointment was I could not get back to the reception area in time to go bungee jumping. This bungee jump is one of the longest in the world at 459 feet. Reason to go back!!
