You'll stop to see the monument to the last slab rolled and the first slab cast before pausing to salute Joe Magarac, the Croatian Folk Hero of the Steelworker.

If you are interested in industrial history, local history, and origins of the Steel Valley--take this tour! George knows his material. My husband and I booked the tour on New Years Eve. It was just the three of us. We had a great time visiting local sites of former mills and Pittsburgh's steel industry. The hi-light was the old Homestead Mill site and Homestead Strike. George provides a positive image of the industry and working class history. The emphasis on minorities and culture was especially appreciated. Very insightful

Taking someone with your background in History really set a high bar for me Molly. I'm glad (and relieved) I was able to add to your knowledge of American History. If you love history this is an awesome tour. Learned so much about history and the importance of Pittsburgh to WWII and so many other significant historical events. I did not know for example how Pittsburgh is playing a key roll in the next technological revolution of driverless cars. It blew my mind and even changed the way I am approaching my current investment strategy. It was well worth the money. My wife and I loved it. 😊

O-oh, I hope you didn't receive any "bum steers" on our Tour. If it proves to be financially helpful, I'll expect a complimentary six-pack of Iron City. Incredible tour -- over 2 hours of non-stop commentary! We never knew the history in Pittsburgh was so rich. It was the most intriguing drive through the valley and old neighborhoods, learning details of the steel industry and influential leaders such as Carnegie. The insights that George shared from his father and grandfather really made this tour -- a must do when visiting the area.
