Descend into the many canyons of the Rio Grande by boat. Float through the spectacular scenery of the international boundary. The water level determines which canyon we float through and whether we float in canoes, kayaks, or rafts. This scenic float is great for all ages. Come explore the Chihuahuan Desert and learn about the geology, plants, and history. This is a full day trip, you will be responsible for bringing your lunch, and we have the coolers to pack your lunch in.

À quoi s'attendre

Terlingua

The tour starts in Terlingua, TX. As we ride in vans to the river learn about the cultural history, geology, flora and fauna of the Chihuahuan Desert. Once at the river we will get outfitted in PFD's (personal floatation devices) and pack cameras and other valuables into dry bags. We will do a safety briefing and paddling instruction talk. After several hours of floating we will stop on the side of the river for a picnic and swim. You are responsible to pack a lunch and water bottle, we will have water to refill your bottles and coolers for your food. Alcoholic beverages are allowed in cans. We will continue our float down the international boundary.We typically return to Terlingua around 4:30 p.m.

Terlingua

La visite commence à Terlingua, TX. Pendant que nous montons dans des camionnettes jusqu'à la rivière, découvrez l'histoire culturelle, la géologie, la flore et la faune du désert de Chihuahuan. Une fois à la rivière, nous nous équiperons de VFI (dispositifs de flottaison personnels) et emballerons les caméras et autres objets de valeur dans des sacs étanches. Nous ferons un briefing sur la sécurité et une conférence sur les instructions de pagayage. Après plusieurs heures de flottaison nous nous arrêterons au bord de la rivière pour un pique-nique et une baignade. Vous êtes responsable d'emballer un lunch et une bouteille d'eau, nous aurons de l'eau pour remplir vos bouteilles et des glacières pour votre nourriture. Les boissons alcoolisées sont autorisées en canette. Nous continuerons notre navigation le long de la frontière internationale. Nous retournons généralement à Terlingua vers 16h30.

What a wonderful excursion for my sister's birthday! Adam was knowledgeable, articulate, well-versed in the flora, fauna, history of the area. His mother would be proud. Chris was a awesome driver. He pulled the trailer full of kayaks and conoes on some windy, steep roads. Good job, guys!

My boyfriend and I did an overnight canoeing/camping trip in Santa Elena canyon. We were so lucky to have Dylan as a guide- he has so much information about the area to share, made canoeing easy and fun, and really tailored the trip to our likes and abilities. We had three meals together, and all were thoughtfully put together based on our preferences. The company provided cold weather gear, so we were warm and comfortable overnight. Dylan even gave us suggestions for hikes and drives for the rest of our stay in Big Bend. I can’t say enough about what a fantastic experience we had! Highly recommend!
