Terlingua

We just got back from the tour and had an awesome experience! We did the canoeing and camping trip into Santa Elena Canyon. Our guide was Josh. He was an ex Air Force, uber geek and excellent guide and chef. He was very, very knowledgeable about the history of the area, the flora and fauna and the geology of the Big Bend. The other family was very slow (grandparents and two young kids) and required a lot of assistance but he was very, very patient with them. My adult son who gets bored easily immensely enjoyed the trip. We loved the boulder hike up to the cave through the birthing canal. The equipments were in good working order, there were chairs for us to sit around the campfire. It was just amazing! Thanks Josh for the excellent food, amazing service, great company and excellent tour!

Fun kayak trip with my wife and cousin. Thanks for your patience with the two big old guys. We aren’t really built for kayaks. I’m 6’5 and my cousin is 6’10 but your guides let us struggle when we wanted to and helped when it was needed. Also, thanks to Erin for hand writing out instructions for hiking the next day. The South Rim loop trail was the high light of my Big Bend experience. Seems like a little more than 12.5 miles but what can I say. I’m old. I’ll see you again some day with my grandkids.

EVERYthing was great about this trip. The Boating/Hiking Company was available, professional, and friendly; our guide (Ry) was instructional, informative (birds, plants, landscape, histories), and a good cook (and proud to have as a new friend); even the ride back from our takeout, with Erin, was timely, friendly, AND relaxing. Well done, y'all. Just can't make Best, better.
