Visite à pied du matin de Frankly Charleston

Aperçu
TOUR REFLECT

The truthful acknowledgment of African American contributions to these United States of America since its founding, which is still in limbo or in denial compared to the racism that is wide spread throughout this country for the sake of its southern heritage, in step with keeping it a tradition? Why can’t Americans get with the time?

We break down the other Charleston and the stereo typical mind set of the institution of slavery in this country or shall I say in the Low Country Charles Towne. Were we GULLAH? Or were we AFRICANS? What was the reward for not running? How wealthy were the free People of Color?

Fantastic and informative tour. Really important for us to appreciate more fully the depths of Black African contributions to making Charleston.

Excellent tour! Franklin Williams is the consummate story teller sharing the real story/truth of our black history. He puts it all in perspective and challenges us all to contemplate and realize what we already know but has been white washed our entire lives. This is the history that needs to be taught in schools from a very young age continuing throughout our lives so we can appreciate the injustices and sacrifices made by the African Americans who were stolen from their country to enrich the elite in our country. He recommends other must see places in and around Charleston as well as interesting books to read and restaurants to savor.

If you want to learn more about the real history of Charleston, you don’t want to miss this tour! Our tour guide, Frank, was very knowledgeable and kind. He shared stories of the “other Charleston”, and he even brought enough water bottles for everyone in the tour group, since it was a warm day. He also gave us each a list of recommended books to read. Take this tour - you’ll be glad you did.
