While I am sure the actual tour is great, you just have to get to them first and if you have to cancel/refund... just say good bye to the $219 per person cost. In my case, $438.
I booked the tour for my wife and I in July of 2019 for winter vacation in December. The Viator/Trip Advisor advertisement for it gives you an address, but then says DON'T USE A GPS, use the provided directions... yet, none are provided. It was until AFTER we missed the tour that we later found the directions when you go to the companies' website, not the Viator/Trip Advisor... but I am getting ahead of myself.
Using a Google maps search of the address, we found what we thought was surely the place. This confusingly turned out to be a next door neighbor with a strikingly similar place who also is setup to do dog sled tours.
The wife and I sat confused at the wrong location to find nobody there to tell us otherwise. We also had no phone signal up in the mountain area to be able to call for clarification or check email. After an hour we left discouraged and got back to our hotel to find out that the company reached out to us via email wondering if we were coming.
After calling and explaining the situation, Lisbet from the Arctic Dog Adventure Co. said their policy is no refunds at all. Lisbet simply told me I should have paid better attention to the directions to find the place... The very same directions that i was not provided or with directions of how to find them. After some emailing with Lisbet, i was told that no refund still, but instead can get credit for rescheduling up to a year from now. My wife and I were flying out the next day in the early afternoon to head back to where we are stationed in Mexico City, so couldnt reschedule with this trip. This made no difference to ADA Co./Lisbet.
Sooooo unless my wife and I shell out $2500 for flights, hotel, rental car, misc again to come back for dog sledding to Fairbanks... we are just out of luck and $438.
To summarize, probably a fun tour, tough to find in a confusing area if from out of town, maybe the worst customer service I have ever received from ANY tour I have booked in the past.

We are very sorry to read this review, Dylan. We were looking forward to having you and are sorry that it didn’t work out for you this time. I have provided the following explanation in hopes that future clients can understand the refusal to refund from our perspective:
Directions are provided on TripAdvisor and on our website. In addition to providing directions prior to tours via confirmation & reminder emails (please note reminder emails only come when one books directly through our website, not TripAdvisor/Viator), we also text detailed directions to our clients the morning of their tour. Unfortunately, you did not provide a working phone number with which to reach you.
Even without directions, you had our address, and you did not go to that address. Our neighborhood has clearly marked numbers at the end of every drive. We have “2270” and a sign reading “Arctic Dog Adventure Co.” at the bottom of our drive. You pulled into a driveway three driveways up from ours. We waited for you, dogs and guides ready, for an hour. We tried calling. The number you provided the booking agency was invalid. We also sent an email, which you did receive, but unfortunately not until you were back at your hotel. Contrary to your statement, we have very good cell service from multiple providers in our neighborhood.
Our company cancellation policy very clearly states that no-shows are charged in full. This aligns with TripAdvisor/Viator’s cancellation policy. Our informal policy is “no show, no call, no refund.” We often issue partial refunds if we are given the courtesy of a notification at or near the scheduled tour time. You did not call until several hours after the tour had ended. We offered to reschedule and have extended you credit that is good for the next year.
I’m sorry this trip did not work out for you, and understand that you are upset and disappointed regarding our policy. We are a small family business and our policies are in place for good reason. Please understand that in order to accommodate you, we had to hire employees and arrange childcare. In light of your difficulties, we are looking into the legality of installing directional signs with our company name up along the main road. Again, we apologize, but stand by our policy. We hope to make it up to you if you make it back North!
