I can not say enough about Garl's Coastal Kayaking Everglades all-day tour, which includes hiking to and in a Cypress Dome, kayaking in freshwater ponds and out into Florida Bay at sunset and finally a night hike. This was our second time to take the tour and this year (2/17) we had Garl himself lead our tour. It would have been impossible to find a better guide; after all there are not many people who worked on the Everglades episode of the National Geographic national park anniversary series. Garl was friendly, helpful knowledgeable and able to explain in layman's terms the sights and ecosystem. It is clear he loves the 'Glades and wants others to do so as well. I recommend this tour to anyone with an interest in the natural world.

Thanks for the review, John! The highest compliment we can get is a repeat guest. The Everglades change all the time so you always get a new experience. We were happy to have you back and look forward to seeing you again!

Came here for the full day tour of Everglades and ot lived up to all my expectations. We started at 11am at a large local fruit stand and then went by van to the park. On the drive we stopped to observe a mother alligator with 2 babies then we took an hour slog through mud and water along a gator trail to a cypress dome/alligator hole where we watched Sneaky the gator swimming around. Then we loaded back up to go to 9 mile pond where we had a 2 hour kayak around the mangroves observing birds, Florida gar, alligators and a crocodile. We then drive over to the bay for a 3-4 mike paddle out into the 10,000 islands. We coasted back to the sunset and a bottle of wine. We then took a night hike on a boardwalk to observe dozens of gators feeding using provided red light flashlights. Finished up about 9pm. I would do it again. Don't forget long sleeves, water shoes for the slogging and bug spray for the bay paddling.

My girl friend and I had one day off during a business trip in Miami and decided to get out of the city for our day off. I had been to the Everglades ten years earlier and loved it. I enjoy nature and had hopes I wasn't getting my girl friend into something that would be uncomfortable. Garl met us at a fruit stand at the entrance to the park"Robert is here" is the stands name. I loaded up with some fresh local fruit an some bottled water for the trip and after Garl got us into some gear for the trip we were on our way. We were lucky to have excellent weather. We started by hiking out to an alligator hole where just as Garl said there would be one we found one. The trip was full of beautiful nature but the most special part of the trip was getting to know Garl and listening to his detailed explanations of the geology, animals and intricacies of the relations between the plants, animals and the water. Garl knows the Everglades!! By the way my girl friend had a smile from ear to ear the entire day and so did I
