I’m proud to say that during this last trip to San Francisco in September, my fiancé and I made some great decisions. This was one of them! After seeing the GoCars all around downtown our first and second day we decided to spend a few hours on our last day trying it out. I’m glad we did. Our GoCar tour took us around parts of San Francisco that we have seen and parts of San Francisco that we did not know existed. It was also fun because we were able to go a lot further than where we ventured to by foot the previous two days. The GPS guided tour was also great because it provided relevant information based off of where we were located. It was a little pricey (renting a car would’ve been cheaper), but I’m glad we did it once! Would I do it again? In another city, yes!

If you really want a fun time seeing San Francisco, do it in a little yellow goCar. My friend and I decided since she had a difficult time walking the hills in San Francisco we would give them a try. We laughed and laughed as we toured around town. I am sure we made it onto a lot of other people's home movies. The GPS guided tour takes you to places you might not normally get to and some you probably have seen before if you have visited the city before. It is basically a three-wheeled motorcycle with a sports car top. So you don't have a reverse. If you get stuck one of you has to get out and push, but it isn't that heavy. It only seats two and it doesn't have a roof so plan to do it on a clear day. I would highly recommend doing an all day trip so you can take your time, venture off the path and stop for lunch along the way. The cost is not cheap, but it is well worth the fun you will have and the memories.

My 17 year old daughter and I had only 1 day to explore San Francisco. We didn't want to waste time on a typical tour where you are with a large group and have little control over what you see or how long you spend at each location. We LOVED the GoCar tour! We parked in the Pier 39 parking garage, and walked to the rental location. There are a couple of different routes around the city to choose from, depending on how much time you have - we chose the 3 hour tour. It was very easy to drive, and although they don't go in reverse, the cars are light and easy to push backwards out of a parking spot. The car "talks" to you the whole time, so while you drive to a major tourist attraction such as the Golden Gate Bridge, she'll you interesting facts about places you pass along the way. You go at your own pace, so we were able to stop and spend time enjoying the places we really wanted to see, and either spent less time or skip entirely some other places. The route keeps you off of major roads, and we didn't have any trouble with traffic. We felt safe the whole way and enjoyed the great weather San Francisco is known for. We had a blast!
