So walking past the office for GoCar to the hotel, I thought more about actually taking a tour with them. I grew up here in the Bay Area, and know quite a bit about and have been to a lot of San Francisco, but not the rest of my party. Well, I've seen these little three-wheeled"golf carts" zipping around the Marina/ Fisherman's Wharf, the financial district, and Haight/ Ashbury. I walked in and the operator, Alex, let me know that I could get into one of these GPS-guided, audible tour guide prompts by location, and easily driven 'mobiles' in about an hour. He was extremely easy to deal with, and held up all promises made. We took off at 4 pm and in two hours covered Lombard Street, The Marina, The Presidio, The Golden Gate on the SF side, all the stuff between The Presidio and the Great Highway/Ocean Beach, Golden Gate Park, Twin Peaks, and Haight/Ashbury in two-hours. Now, we didn't stop to walk around the sights, but could have due the the ease of parking these lil' contraptions. I just loved the narration that the on-board radio told me about parts and places in The City that I didn't know.
I'd do this again in a heartbeat, and have to give Alex kudos for being very helpful-thanks!
