We booked this about three months in advance. When the day came it was raining, thunder, lightning and snowing. We asked if we could re-book that we were going to be in the park several days. It was definitely no problem. When we did go it was a beautiful, sunny day. Josh was our guide. He provided bear spray, binoculars and trekking poles. He took his time and exclaimed everything we were seeing. He was very knowledgeable about the animals, vegetation and the park in general We had lunch that was provided by Josh on the bank of the Lamar River. We are both 72. It was a little strenuous for us at times due to how we had to reroute around the bison herds. It was a great experience that we would definitely do again.

Without this hike with Josh I would never have gotten to see the wolves in Lamar Valley. He knew where they liked to roam and with his expert eye and his scope, we were able to see two wolves. The Lamar Valley that day was full of bison, several large herds, literally hundreds. We also saw pronghorn. We trooped over animal trails, went down to the river for a picnic lunch and had a wonderful time. Josh was able to answer all my questions about Yellowstone and its animals and plants. (And I ask a lot of questions). The hike left on time. Josh provided hiking poles and bear spray and Yellowstone Hiking Guides provided a nice sack lunch with a delicious turkey sandwich and a variety of goodies.

Emily Jo was our guide and just awesome! We booked the Lamar Valley hike and the Geyser hike and were lucky enough to have Emily Jo lead us. She's extremely knowledgeable and FUN as well. She is so spunky and full of energy and so patient with everyone. She takes the time to answer all questions. We got lucky and saw the Lamar Valley Wolf pack!!! A highlight of our trip!!!! My husband and I learned so much from her about the area and she also took extra precautions to make sure we were safe, which was a big reason we booked the tour. We were too worried about hiking alone and this was just perfect and one of the best things we did in the park! Thanks again Emily Jo (from Derek and Kristen)
