What To Expect

Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone

Your expert guide will meet you at the Pavilion next to the Upper Falls Parking Area at 8AM. This is also the staring point for Uncle Tom's Trail. The hike is a 6-mile loop. The hike is along the Canyon Rim, through the forest out to Ribbon Lake, and then past a geyser basin, Clear Lake, and the Wapiti Meadows with big views of the Hayden Valley. If you hike one trail in Yellowstone this is it!

They should have texted us or actually "called us"-- the email had no contact information. We couldn't freaking find this "lower loop" parking lot they were talking about and even the ranger misdirected us. How can you go on a hike when you can't find the place? Bisons on the road gave us no room for mistakes in traveling there either. So, we picked "our own" trail above the canyon and walked an hour on that. That trail may have been too steep for me anyway. Then we roamed around the Canyon Village.

Everyone who books through Viator should receive a confirmation email in their Viator message box that includes all of the details of the trips and our contact information. The location for the Grand Canyon Rim Hike is the Upper Falls Parking Area off of the South Rim Drive. We meet at 8AM.

We got to see areas of Yellowstone that we would not have on our own. Our guide Deklund was great and provided us with great information and facts about Yellowstone. The scenery was incredible. A great experience!

The hike was beautiful! It was an amazing way to see parts of Yellowstone not viewed by everyone with a great guide. Our guide was very knowledge about the park and a lot of its history which only added to the over all experience.
