Your day is a full one. Don't miss the cowboy show before your train departs. There are several booking options. We rode in the bubble observation car where we had good views and were taken care of by our fun filled and informative attendant Alexander. Snacks, drinks, coffee, and fruit are provided. There is also a bar (not included). The ride is slow and over 2 hours - great guitar entertainment is provided each way. We booked their Grand tour at the canyon where buses took us around. The first stop was a lunch buffet - filling and not too tasty. From there our bus tour operator described in excellent detail the parks offerings. We disembarked the bus twice to get canyon views, and viewed a third spot while waiting to board the return train trip. On the return we all enjoyed champagne toasts with Alexander and had fun when the train was held up by robbers. While your actual canyon viewing time is limited, you are placed at great viewing spots and totally avoid the frustrations of traffic, parking, and maps! If you don't take the bus package you are free to roam around and use the parks overcrowded bus system (not recommended due to time restraints) and you probably will not get to the most advantageous viewing spots. While the trip is costly, it did provide an easy and entertaining way to see the canyon.
