The train trip to the Grand Canyon was wonderful and I recommend it highly. I like trains and on certain Saturdays in the summer they use a steam engine to pull the train instead of the diesel engine that they usually use. The coach class car was very clean, comfortable and air conditioned which was nice as it was a hot day at the canyon. The Pullman cars are not air conditioned but do have windows that open. All GCR employees were efficient and friendly. Cameron, the tour guide in our car was entertaining and knowledgeable and added so much to the trip. I hope GCR realizes what an asset he is for their business. There were musicians as well as train robbers who provided entertainment during the trip. If you can, I recommend booking for one of the Steam Saturdays in the summer so you can see, hear and feel what it is was like to ride the rails back in the day. Loved it!
