It takes 2 hours and 15 minutes to travel between Williams Station and the Grand Canyon. To be honest, the view from the train window is the same all the time, but on the way there, cowboys play songs on the train, and on the way back, a cowboy robber gets on (and takes $1 off you), so it's quite enjoyable. They also have donuts, apple pie, muffins, and drinks.
I sat in a dome seat, but the view from the train window didn't change, so I think a normal seat would have been fine... (lol)
However, a photographer appeared on the train on the way there and took a commemorative photo for me. You can decide whether to buy it on the way back. This service may not be available in regular cars.
It takes an hour by car, but the parking lot at the Grand Canyon gets very crowded in the summer. There are also bus tours from Grand Canyon Station, so if you take one, it will take you to the spectacular view without you having to worry about anything. It was an environmentally friendly way to get around and enjoy the feeling of traveling.
