Just got back from weekend trip to the Grand Canyon and the wife and I thought the train trip might be fun. We bought first class tickets and took the ride last Saturday. Not much to brag about. It was nice not to have to drive but the trip took approximately 2.5 hrs. Included in the 1st Class price was some minimal snacks and non-alcoholic drinks, (coke products only,) booze was pretty high priced, beer was $7, bourbon and water was $8.00. Snacks included, morning on the way to GC consisted of yogurt and muffins. On the way back; salmi slices and cubes of cheese. Then there was a cheesy train robbery designed to milk tips from the guests. They did however have some very good, funny, entertaining musicians. Final take; I would do it again for the first time, (minus the drinks,) but I won't be going back.
