A friend and I took a day-long tour with guide Dora in April that was perfect--filled with tons of information about the canyon, including the flora, fauna, the history and geology. I think I could put together a science project on the Grand Canyon with all the handouts and details that Dora provided, including samples of the various rocks that make up layers of the canyon. That day was unforgettable, featuring a snow shower in the middle. But that didn't deter us. The tour included lunch on a Navajo reservation. When we returned to the canyon, much of the storm had passed--as Dora said it would--and we were able to see a good bit more of it and get several more glorious photos. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone, including children. You'll be glad you did.
