Make your pwn way to the West Rim where guests are provided an opportunity to experience the awe-inspiring canyon from many different perspectives. Please Note: Last ticket is sold at 4:45 p.m. from March to November and varies as days get longer or shorter going into and out of the summer. Please be aware that Arizona does not observe Daylight Saving Time. Thus, during the winter months, Grand Canyon West is on Mountain Standard Time and is a full hour ahead of California and Nevada, which are on Pacific Standard Time. When DST is being observed, beginning in March, the time at Grand Canyon West is the same as the time in Las Vegas and California.

Grand Canyon Skywalk

This 10-foot wide, horseshoe-shaped glass bridge extends 70 feet out over the rim of the Grand Canyon. Look down and you can see right through the glass platform 4,000 feet to the floor of the Canyon below. This engineering marvel offers unparalleled views of one of the world’s Seven Natural Wonders. Nervous about walking on glass almost a mile above the floor of the Grand Canyon? Have no fear—the Skywalk is strong enough to hold seventy fully loaded 747 passenger jets. We purchased tickets online ahead of time. Upon arrival we parked and went through the building to board a bus to the first point. The sights are breathtaking. We took our time taking it all in. We did purchase (ahead of time) meal tickets for the restaurant. Although it was convenient and we had good service, the food was nothing to brag about. Guano point again was breathtaking. It was very interesting seeing the different types of homes that Native Americans lived in. There were also a few native Americans from the tribe answering questions. Our bus drivers were friendly and helpful. If you have a small child, the terrain is not easy with a stroller. Use a carrier…it would have been much easier.

We booked a helicopter tour on the last day of our trip through the official site of west rim. On the day of the 28th, it was windy and it started to snow, so the flight time was delayed little by little. The female employee said that if you call the number on the website, they will reschedule or refund you. However, she said that the number written on the website cannot be refunded, and that she will reschedule. Since we had the last schedule for the day, when we asked for a refund, we kept saying that it was operating normally that day. Please sign autographs or make a video. Besides, there is no way to contact them... If everyone is going to the West Rim, make a reservation through a travel agent.

Compared to Grand Canyon south rim, the west rim was a huge disappointment. We spent most of our afternoon waiting on lines.. almost an hour waiting for the bus, an hour to get onto the sky bridge, and 49 minutes for our food. Thank goodness we had prepurchased our tickets because that line was a mile long. Trails were closed due to lack of staff. Very disorganized. Spent several hundred dollars for family of 5, not worth it. Weather was bad so visibility was poor. Photographer did a nice job given weather conditions.
