After early morning pickup from your Jackson Hole hotel, your naturalist guide takes you into Grand Teton National Park. Even in the quiet of a snowy winter, wildlife can be spotted in the park and your guide knows where to look for animals. On any given day, you could see moose, bison, bighorn sheep, elk, mule deer, bald eagles, golden eagles, pronghorn, coyotes, or even wolves as you explore the park. At midday, come in from the cold to enjoy lunch in the famous western cowboy town of Jackson, Wyoming. After lunch, head back outside for a horse-drawn sleigh ride at the National Elk Refuge. Snap social media–worthy pics of the large herds as your guide explains how the elk migrate from the surrounding area to the refuge, a 24,700-acre (9,996-hectare) winter sanctuary to 47 different mammals and nearly 175 species of birds such as trumpeter swans and bald eagles. At the end of a memorable 8-hour tour of this winter wonderland, your guide returns you to your hotel where your tour ends.

Our guide was so knowledgeable and personable that he really made the trip. We were also very fortunate that the animals cooperated and we saw Buffalo, moose up close, mountain goats, otters, and coyotes. We were fortunate to have good weather so we were able to get out of the van and experience the animals first hand.

We felt this was well worth the spend. Whether Mother Nature cooperates or not to see wildlife (happily in our instance it did!), Mark was a terrificly knowledgable guide! Learned a lot about the area’s wildlife + general area history. Would flag, Trip Advisor’s write up states there is lunch at the Wildlife Art Museum. This hasnt been the case for some time apparently. FYI.

Such a fun day! Our guide, Jace was amazing - so knowledgeable about not only the animals, but also on the history in the area. The guides all do a great job of communicating to each other as to where they have spotted animals. We saw wolf (at a distance), eagles, coyotes, mule dear, a moose, some pheasant, a fox and some big horn sheep and of course, the amazing sleigh ride through the elk. Great day!
