After early morning pickup from your Jackson Hole hotel, your naturalist guide takes you into Grand Teton National Park. Even in the quiet of a snowy winter, wildlife can be spotted in the park and your guide knows where to look for animals. On any given day, you could see moose, bison, bighorn sheep, elk, mule deer, bald eagles, golden eagles, pronghorn, coyotes, or even wolves as you explore the park. At midday, come in from the cold to enjoy lunch in the famous western cowboy town of Jackson, Wyoming. After lunch, head back outside for a horse-drawn sleigh ride at the National Elk Refuge. Snap social media–worthy pics of the large herds as your guide explains how the elk migrate from the surrounding area to the refuge, a 24,700-acre (9,996-hectare) winter sanctuary to 47 different mammals and nearly 175 species of birds such as trumpeter swans and bald eagles. At the end of a memorable 8-hour tour of this winter wonderland, your guide returns you to your hotel where your tour ends.

Our guides, Neil and McKenna were outstanding, drawing us into their love and passion for Grand Teton National Park, the area in general and the wildlife. They're knowledgeable and enthusiastic about making the most of their guests' experience. We saw everything we had hoped for, and more. What a great tour! And, the description of the tour by phone prior to booking was exactly what we saw and did. Well done!

Had a great time. Our guide Michaela seemed to know where all the different types of animals were. We saw: moose, elk, coyotes, a vole, grouse (ruffed and sage), ducks, swans, bighorn sheep, ravens (including one that scooped up the vole!!!), and deer. She had an eye for picking out wildlife in trees and hidden back in the woods. She did a super job finding wild creatures for us to look at with her spotting scope or the supplied binoculars. She was fun and very knowledgeable about the area and the history of park. Even recommended a local place for us to eat dinner that was great. All in all a super time, well worth the price.

We were so fortunate to have Makena as our guide. She was prompt picking us up. She suggested we see mountains and scenery first so we could catch the early morning light, then go looking for wildlife later— and that was perfect! She shared so many facts about the area, naming conventions, and the animals — we learned a lot. She’s so pleasant and easy to talk with and ask questions. She has a fun sense of humor. We laughed a lot, and were totally relaxed. She helped us take great pictures. She’d hop out and set up the spotter scope then get our phones on it so we could capture spectacular videos of owls, sheep, elk. Wow! We had a nice lunch stop (bison chili was delish). And she planned the rest of the day so we could see the raptors, and then enjoy that sleigh ride out to the elk. Wow! What a day. Thanks, Makena — you made the experience for us!!
