The Gypsy Gold Farm

our first forty five minutes is an educational journey conducted by Dennis Thompson, the discoverer and founder of the Gypsy Vanner Horse breed. Dennis and Erin will then introduce you to a Gypsy Vanner stallion and explain the envisioned look and details unique to the Vanner breed. Your second hour is a walk among horse filled paddocks lined with ancient oaks laden with the romantic Spanish moss of the south. On your walk you will meet beautiful stallions and mares and friendly Gypsy Vanner Horse babies. Your Gypsy Gold Farm Tour ends with a picture opportunity with an incredible Gypsy Vanner Horse stallion and a visit to the Gypsy Gold gift shop.

La ferme d'or tzigane

nos quarante-cinq premières minutes sont un voyage éducatif mené par Dennis Thompson, le découvreur et fondateur de la race Gypsy Vanner Horse. Dennis et Erin vous présenteront ensuite un étalon Gypsy Vanner et vous expliqueront le look et les détails envisagés uniques à la race Vanner. Votre deuxième heure est une promenade parmi les paddocks remplis de chevaux bordés de chênes centenaires chargés de la romantique mousse espagnole du sud. Au cours de votre promenade, vous rencontrerez de beaux étalons et juments et de sympathiques bébés Gypsy Vanner Horse. Very interesting tour. I learned a lot about the Gypsy Vanna and had a great time meeting the horses. They were so friendly and beautiful creatures! Their history is amazing.

Thanks Layla, you're close. Vanner is an English word that means "a horse suitable to pull a caravan" Vana in the Romany Glossary means "a caravan horse" Vanna is an assistant to a game show host :) Close enough for horseshoes and hand grenades huh, Layla ? Honestly don’t know how this has such good reviews. Owner gave a history lesson lecturing over an hour in the hot sun with birds screaming. Then the tour around the farm he kept the microphone on but the speakers are way back at the barn so it was very difficult to actually hear over muffled speakers and his voice. More time talking than anything else. Animals are only redeeming thing but overall wouldn’t recommend. More animals less talking. I’d rather go back to college if I want a lecture.

Leah . I don't see where she saw it, but my wife mentioned you wrote this review while the tour was going on. We agree with you, it's not a good tour if a fairytale story of discovery of an unknown breed of horse hidden by one of the worlds most colorful least understood societies interesting, its not for you. Take a look but I don't think you'll find the story in any college classes. My apologies for the sun, in February it usually feels better than not being in it. In the winter we do a dance between tours in the barn where it can get too cold or in the sun. I don't typically wear a mic on the second prt of the tour so the crowd must have been large the day you attended. The parrots are part of the woodwork here and typically only go off once or twice a day like they would in the wild . We are building a new presentation area that will be a long way from the new forty Parrots and a Porsche sanctuary that visitors will absolutely love. You may or may not have heard about our future plans. Perhaps you will give us another try in a couple years , thanks Leah.
