We took our kids ages 12, 14, 16, and 17 on a half-day trip in late June. Even though the river is moving slower by this stage in the season we had a great time! The kids actually thought maneuvering around the rocks and even getting a little stuck (and un-stuck) was funny, though their favorite part was going through the class III rapids. Our guide, Ashton, was super knowledgeable about the river and the area and we enjoyed the sort of tour-guide aspect of the trip. One thing I would recommend is not bothering with the wet suit rentals unless you are super cold-natured. I couldn't even keep just the splash jacket on (over swimsuit and dry-fit shirt/shorts) as it got hot fast. We did rent the neoprene booties, though I think we would've been just as good leaving our Teva's and Chacos on. Overall I highly recommend, our party had the teens in our raft, and younger children down to four years old in another raft (though they did have to walk around the class III on the banks), and everyone had a great time!
