It was an awesome whitewater kayaking with an awesome instructor who gave us a lot of info about the town as we kayak down animas river!! He was very friendly and patient and so as the other instructor who helped people on a raft. The river water was icy cold but their wet suits kept us warm. The river overall wasn’t as rugged as I imagined, except one portion where my legs were thrown up in the air, but still it was more than enough for a beginner. When the water level is low, I believe kayak is the best option since you get more control but if you don’t think you can paddle constantly for a couple hours then go with a raft for sure ;) I consider myself fit but still I got sore the next day :P The operator who helped us with booking through online chatting was very friendly and helpful. I recommend you to be a little flexible about your schedule because they contacted me a day before to inform that their trip minimum for the afternoon trip I booked did not meet so they need to cancel our reservation but we managed to keep it by charging it to their morning trip and joining other people. The office has clean bathrooms and changing room for us to get ready for the adventure and they hold car keys for us. It’s definitely definitely worth the price.

We did the half day down the lower animas mid April with Ben. The whole thing was amazing. Lots of animal sightings and Ben was a fantastic guide. Full of fun facts and very fun guy overall. Whatever he is getting paid is not enough, he definitely deserves a raise because he far exceeded our expectations. We had so much fun and will surely be back for a more wild rafting experience.

Trey was an awesome guide, my husband and I had so much fun! The water was really cold so it was great that they offered wetsuits, definitely would recommend. It was a pretty mellow rafting trip, great experience for first timers like us, or if you’re looking for a fun day out on the water. 10/10 would do again!
