My son and I booked a Charter with Mark while we were on Vacation last week. I'm a Charter Captain myself in Rhode Island, so I have higher expectations than most. Mark didn't let us down. He is an easy going guy and truly wants you to have a good time. Mark starts the day by stopping by a bait guy, which gives the client an opportunity to grab bait if the client wishes to. Its up to the client and not included in the charyer fare. However, i wanted to grab bait because it affords us more opportunities to catch a wider variety of fish. On the way to the fishing grounds, Mark showed us the sights of Miami and explained some of the history of the area. All the while, Marks mate is trolling lures behind the boat with the intention of grabbing a bait fish to we can set a bottom rod for sharks while we fished for sailfish. We ended up catching a small kingfish and cut it up for bait. Once on the reef, Marks mate Eloy went to work setting up the lines. It wasn't long until we had a Sandbar Shark on the other end. My son, who's 13, jumped in Marks custom made chair which hangs over the stern of the boat. This is especially thrilling for a 13yr old catching a good sized shark. Mark was great with my son and pulled the shark in the boat and allowed us to get plenty of pictures with it. Mark tagged the shark and we released it unharmed. We concluded the day by trolling into port. Once back at the dock, Mark was generous enough to drive us back to our hotel, which saved us at least $100 in an Uber. He refused to take anymore money and wished us well on the remainder of our vacation. We truly had a great experience with Mark. I would recommend him to anyone wanting to have a great time at a very reasonable Charter rate.
