Our guide made the walk through Harvard Yard and nearby sites a fun experience. In addition to providing historical facts, she interspersed the tour with whimsical stories that lightened up the, perhaps, stuffy image one might have of acquiring a Harvard education. In the allowed time, we saw quite a lot of the institution. Later on, looking at a campus map, I realized we saw little of the actual teaching facilities. No mention was made of the excellent Harvard Museums and art galleries. Perhaps a second tour with a different focus could be offered to augment this overview. We both commented that, if we were taking this tour as a prelude to considering Harvard for a son or daughter, we might come away with an impression less favorable than before the tour. We knew, going in, that this would be a light hearted tour, based on web site video. As an introduction to the famous institution of learning, this tour is worthwhile.

Thank you for your review. We are glad that you enjoyed the tour overall. While Harvard does not allow tours inside the teaching facilities, our guide should have shown you the Science center and spent at least one whole stop describing academics at Harvard. Museums should have also been included in our scripts. We will follow up with our staff to make sure if there was an oversight by the tour guide that it doesn't happen again.
