This was a great opportunity to learn about Hawaiian food - especially the influence of pacific rim countries. The tour takes place in Chinatown and of course the Chinese influence is big. We got to sample things that most people have never ever heard of. I think this is a great tour for foodies. If you like to try new and interesting things, this is a great experience. Our guide was knowledgeable and helpful and went out of his way to find interesting things for us to try. My advice is to arrive hungry.

This was the food tour real food people want. Save the shave ice and shrimp truck tour for the pedestrians. This tour is for serious eaters looking for something different and new. Visit and support many local businesses that are still producing the food the help build Hawaii. Victor is amazing tour leader with a connection to the businesses that will make your taste buds smile. He works hard to make the tour memorable for everyone. Take this tour and you'll be in the know.

Victor is a terrific guide! We went to food stalls and markets in Chinatown, where we ate very fresh, local Hawaiian, Chinese and Phillipino dishes. Unlike other culinary tours that focus on restaurant meals, this tour brought us to local markets and food stalls that we would never have found on our own. The "samples" are actually small meals--more than we could eat-so we brought plenty back to our hotel with us. We'll always remember this great experience!
