A fast and fun wildlife adventure awaits your family aboard our zodiac-style vessels (rigid inflatable boats). This cruise of up to 20 passengers gives you a thrilling 2-hour look at Southern California’s year-round whales and dolphins. With speeds of 30 knots or more, you’ll spend less time looking for animals and more time enjoying them! Your zodiac adventure will have you incredibly close to the ocean’s surface and within arm’s reach of wildlife. At the conclusion of your cruise, you'll receive one of Mrs. Capt. Dave's famously delicious Triple Fudge Brownies. (Some folks love the brownies more than the whales!)

We are a certified Responsible Whale Watching partner with the World Cetacean Alliance located in Dana Point, CA, the Dolphin and Whale Capital of the World®, and the first Whale Heritage Site in the Americas.

This was such a cool experience! The high speed boat is windy, but surprisingly smooth. I was sitting in the back and had great views. I recommend wearing a hat, sunglasses and a jacket with a hood. Nancy (I think that was her name?) was our driver and Chuck the captain lead was on the boat also. Both were very kind people and shared great information. It was kind of hard to hear from the back, but was able to catch the gist of it. The boat does go really fast so if you like speed, then this ride is for you. We saw sea lions and a gray whale! The boat was fast enough to catch a glimpse of the whale as it went up to exhale. It was so cool! I absolutely had a fantastic experience and highly recommend!

Great experience! No whales on our trip but it was a beautiful day and our captain was lovely, and we got to follow a large pod of dolphins for about 20mins and stand on the bow to watch them. The ride was surprising smooth for such a fast and low boat, no sprays of water in the boat but chilly in January so bring those layers!

Took our third whale watching trip with Capt Dave's. And as usual it was fantastic. Only saw Common Dolphins but still great fun and informative. Captains Maria and Caitlin were great.
