A fast and fun wildlife adventure awaits your family aboard our zodiac-style vessels (rigid inflatable boats). This cruise of up to 20 passengers gives you a thrilling 2-hour look at Southern California’s year-round whales and dolphins. With speeds of 30 knots or more, you’ll spend less time looking for animals and more time enjoying them! Your zodiac adventure will have you incredibly close to the ocean’s surface and within arm’s reach of wildlife. At the conclusion of your cruise, you'll receive one of Mrs. Capt. Dave's famously delicious Triple Fudge Brownies. (Some folks love the brownies more than the whales!)

We are a certified Responsible Whale Watching partner with the World Cetacean Alliance located in Dana Point, CA, the Dolphin and Whale Capital of the World®, and the first Whale Heritage Site in the Americas.

My son and I saw a finwhale, gray whale (!), a BUNCH of dolphins, and a sunfish! Even though Captain Neal said there was no guarantee, we were able to see exactly what we wanted! It was an incredible experience. I was impressed by First Mate Jeannie, who shared what she knew about the sea animals. She also cleaned up a mylar balloon that she found floating in the ocean. Bravo!

Sounds like you had a lot of fun on our exciting, high-speed zodiac-style vessel, getting up-close and personal with different kinds of awe-inspiring whales as well as wild dolphins and other wildlife! Capt Dave's runs a professional and efficient operation. Everything was logistically smooth and well-run. We chose a private Fast Cat zodiac excursion for our family of five, and we were very pleased with the experience. We spent two hours on the water with an expert captain and naturalist, Craig, who was deeply knowledgeable about the wildlife and the ocean topography. The zodiac ride was surprisingly smooth -- I had worried about sea-sickness, but it was not at all an issue -- and we enjoyed a comfortable trip. We saw two large pods of dolphins -- common and white-sided Pacific -- but unfortunately, no whales. The lack of whale sightings was disappointing, but the dolphins were playful and numbered in the hundreds. We will definitely book again when we are back in the area!
