We were met by a tour guide on the street from Hollywood Tours, just as any other tour company would greet you and offer their services. The man we spoke to was really nice, knowledgeable, and friendly. So we booked the Best of L.A. Tour with them. My tour guide was Afro-man, as he liked to call himself. His jokes were not funny, but he kept on making them. The tour was going good, but when we got to the Hollywood sign and all of the passengers got off to take pictures, my dad and I went a bit further down the path to take pictures. Meanwhile my mom stayed on the tour bus because she was tired and wanted to rest. My dad and I lost track of time and stayed out a bit longer than the rest of the passengers, because we also had a conversation with a few people who were filming an ad. We also did not have any reception (t mobile), it was spotty, so we didn't get any of the calls that my mom tried to make to get us to come back on time. So, instead of the tour guide, or any one else coming to get us, bc we were over the time limit----- this tour guide left us! Yes, the tour guide, with all the passengers, left my dad and me at the Hollywood hills, so that he could take the other tour people back to Hollywood blvd since we didn't come back!
And my mom was on that bus, refusing to get off and look for us, in the event that the tour guide would leave her there too- then we would all have been stranded! Worst experience ever.
And so my mom made tour guy come back for us, and my dad and I stood there for nearly 30 min, waiting. And when he picked us up, Afro man didn't even feel sorry. He said that we were irresponsible for losing track of the time and not making it back. Haha, speaking of irresponsible..... Driver that leaves his passengers. And then he started making judgements on our character, saying we weren't grateful for the tour, that's why we didn't come back in time. And on top, he actually asked for a tip. I dont know about you, but tips should be given with a good feeling, not out of compulsion. And for a tour guide to say, "please give me a tip", literally, is a complete turn off. It's cheap, and does not show gratitude. He ruined the entire tour for us. Definitely wouldn't recommend this tour company.
