Croisière d'observation des baleines à Hoonah

Aperçu
Embark on a small-group, 3-hour whale watching and wildlife sightseeing tour from Hoonah, Alaska in our custom built vessels with heated cabins and restroom. Every season humpback whales come in large numbers to Hoonah to feed on the nutrient-rich waters of Glacier Bay and Icy Strait before migrating south again for the winter. The whale population begins to arrive in Hoonah in May, and stays through September.

Highly recommend this whale watch trip. Boat was excellent, plenty of indoor space if bad weather, but also plenty of viewing space outside for watching. Didn't have to go very far to meet the Humpback whales, maybe 5 minutes and we were on top of them. Also found a huge family of Killer Whales. Saw Sea Lions, otters and tons of whales. Crew was knowledgeable and kept everyone engaged the entire trip. Got us back to Hoonah with plenty of time to get back to our ship.

We had the most fantastic time with Hoonah Whale Watching. Denise (our captain) and Carson (our naturalist) were superb! They were both so knowledgeable and shared so much with us. We enjoyed Denise’s stories about Tlinket history and traditions. Carson answered all our questions about the many whales, sea loins and otters we saw. Our day with them was our favorite day of the cruise!

We researched whale watching in Alaska at the ports our cruise ship would stop. We did not want one of the tour bus experiences with a large group. Hoonah was rated better than Juneau for whale sighting, so we looked at Hoonah Travel Adventures. WOW!! This experience was awesome. Smaller boat, but plenty of space to take photos. Smaller group, so you weren't crawling over each other. Paul, our captain, was so knowledgeable and had incredible stories to tell of his own experiences, and his kids growing up in the area. (With photos to boot.) Everyone had the opportunity to ask questions. We would absolutely recommend Hoonah Travel Adventures. P.S. My first posted review incorrectly mentioned Patrick as captain, he was the assistant, Paul was in command. Sorry Paul.
