Our tour of Savannah was absolutely great! We got very lucky with our tour guide Gertrude (all dressed up in an antebellum dress and staying in character of a well-healed Southern lady!). Gertrude was completely fun and informative and the tour gave us a real sense of Savannah. We were picked up promptly at our hotel (Casa Monica...fabulous, btw!) and taken to the main station to begin the tour. Even though we paid extra for the all day on/off, it wasn't necessary. Gertrude was so good, we stayed on with her the whole loop (everyone else on the trolley did, too--she was that good!). After we looked around the Museum at the main station (where the Forest Gump bench is, and a replica of the Bird Girl statue from Bonaventure Cemetery (the original is now in another museum), then we walked back through the historic district to the waterfront and along the Riverfront shops back to our hotel.
P.S. If you can get the row of seats right behind where the guide is standing, that is best for hearing!
