When I go to a show like this I expect to be amazed. Although the magic was really good, it's all stuff we have seen before, nothing new! Do I know how he did it. No, but I didn't know how the others doing the same tricks do it either. Don't get me wrong, the show was well worth the money. Most of the humor was good, but the Mansion of Dreams theme, hard to follow. I think Rick and his crew know their craft very well. I also think the show needs to be updated with at least a few illusions that no one else does. Rick also comes across after each illusion with the "did you see what I just did? OK applaud me attitude". I will when I think you should receive it, but not because you ask for it. I found this to be a little assuming on his part. Oh, don't sit in row F seat 221 because the lights from the stage hit you directly in the eye causing you to put your hand up to shade your eyes so you can see what is happening on stage. This happened a lot during the show and was really annoying. I guess while I am being a critic, Rick should ask for volunteers when he wants someone from the audience to help him out instead of just picking someone. He picked this poor older lady in the row in front of us to stand up and dance every time he asked a certain question. She did it, but we could hear her from our seat quitely expressing her dismay and pain. She obviously had hip issues and had trouble walking, but being the trooper she was, she stood and and tried to dance a number of times. Even her husband said out loud to be heard, she has trouble walking, but the show went on anyway. I really felt sorry for her. Ok, to recap. They did some really good magic. The production was really good. The dancers were excellent. There were a number of embarrassed unwilling participants that made the rest of us laugh. But there wasn't anything to write home about! If you want to see the magic you've seen on TV many times over done live, this is a good place to do that! Don't expect to be amazed though!

I created a Mansion where my dreams become a reality, and the magic is performed within the walls of this mansion. Regarding members of the audience, I try so very hard to make sure everyone is a willing participant. I am always concerned for their safety and comfort. There is no forcing. When and if anyone does not want to do something, they don't. You think you may have seen everything. However, years in the making and there is no show like Mansion of Dreams in the world. Read the rest of the reviews. To recap, this review is nothing to write home about.
