In planning for the historic triangle of Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown, you must understand two places at each Yorktown and Jamestown. There is the museum and the re-creations at one. Cost $19 per place with a combo of American Revolution Museum and Jamestown Settlement. The other are the 2 state parks Yorktown and Historic Jamestown. These both have visitors centers but these are where you have drives that go by actual archeological finds.
Jamestown Settlement is a beautiful museum and recreated settlement. Watch the film first to get oriented. As a wheelchair party they worked very hard to keep the terrain fairly level once outside. It is a combination of brick sidewalks and packed gravel. If in chair stay in main entrances and not back doors as that is where you could get stuck. Make sure you get to the dock. While the boats are not accessible, the end of the dock is a lovely place to hang out.
