Although this trip is conducted in Deception Pass State Park we avoid the turbulent water near the bridge which is more suitable for expert kayakers. During the busiest days we often run full. In the unlikely event that your preferred trip is already full then we will definitely get you out on a trip leaving at a similar time. We had a very good time on this tour. We had only been kayaking once or twice before and we were a little tired as we were trying to squeeze a lot into one day, but this was just the right amount of time, it's a short trip with beautiful scenery all around. We enjoyed our tour guide Nikki very much, she was pleasant and patient, and even though I would have thought we would have been the lest experienced she had quite a group of novice and handled us all very well. Nikki took pictures for us (as we were afraid to take a phone or camera out on the kayak) and sent them to us later, it was nice to have our time memorialized. Cheer! :)

We were so thankful that the day we were to kayak the winds were 14-17mph and they agreed to reschedule us. Phew! Mike was our guide the next week and he was knowledgeable, patient with fitting my very tall husband with the rudder foot pedals and very professional. When a guide loves what he does, it is contagious! Next time in Anacortes we will go out again with Anacortes Kayak.
