We found this to be a fabulous and the time went fast. The view of the fjords was breathtaking. The crew was knowledgeable and open to answering all questions. It is a great way of seeing a part of Alaska you could not get any way else sine we were able to soak it all in during the 6 hours. Seeing wildlife can be a crapshoot and it depends on the time of the year you are there, we saw only one humpback whale, but were in the middle of many orcas. We could not count how many there were - amazing. I would have liked to have gotten closer to the glacier to view the calving. Great adventure.

Even though it was cloudy and rainy at times, it was a wonderful day/time! Super pods of Orcas, Bald Eagles, a Humpback, glaciers, seals - just amazing views. Boat including bathrooms were super clean, Captain Steve Martin and staff so informative and welcoming. Great selection of food and beverages at very reasonable prices with a nice touch of freshly baked cookies towards end of the tour. A trip not to be missed!!

They say it's all in the timing. Our boat was captained by Mark Stafford and he sure knew his stuff. First we viewed beautiful scenery and the resident creatures including Puffins, sea lions and Orcas. Then we came to the Holgate Glacier. The captain observed some calving activity and felt it was important to stay for awhile. We all heard and saw what he waited for. A very loud noise and a huge piece of the front of the glacier calved into the water. It was a spectacular sight to see. The force, the noise, the water seemed to explode before our eyes. It was bitter sweet. Seeing this calving was truly amazing. Knowing that most glaciers are receding and only about 10% are advancing left us in sadness and amazement all at the same time. Moments later we moved away as there was concern about large waves.
