Our family of five took the 8:00 national park cruise and saw fjords, a tidewater glacier, and wildlife in comfort. As advertised, the boat enters the Gulf of Alaska to see wildlife and see another fjord with the tidewater glacier, but the sea was calm that day, and the catamaran ride was smooth and comfortable. :-) I brought scopolamine but didn't use it, and we had no problems with motion sickness. Narration of wildlife and the geography was excellent. Our family got some great photos at Holgate Glacier. It looked like everyone had an inside table and chair for the cruise, with windows to see outside. We went outside when the boat stopped to see something and went inside when the boat got underway. We saw our first puffins and were surprised how small they are (1-1.5 pounds). The lunch was good -- better than we expected from some reviews. We called to purchase tickets that include a voucher for the SeaLife Center, which we enjoyed.

If you want to et an overview of the extent of the Resurrection Bay Area then this isa great day trip. Regardless of the Alaskan weather wwe saw glaciers, marine mammals such as humpback whales, Stellarss ealions, puffins, otters and fortunately orcas. Going up to the face of the Aialik glacier was highlight. Snacks are provided and lunch on the boat. Dinner was a buffet of salmon and prime rib on Fox Island. The commentary was good and informative and the boat big enough never to feel cramped. Toilets on board. Highly recommended and don't miss the sea otters in Seward boat harbour. they are delightful.

I cannot reommend this tour highly enough. Worth every penny. We encountered many humpback whales, sea lions, harbor seals, etc. The glacier visit was awe inspiring. The crew pulled a few chunks of glacier ice from the water and let passengers see/hold it as they wished. Hodling the glacier ice inspired a "High quality H2O" joke from my 11 year old (watch 'The Waterboy' is you don't underatnd the joke). Captain Mark was spectacular in his commentary, his ability to spot wildlife and point it out to the passengers, and maneuvering the boat so everyone was able to get a great view of the scenery at hand. If I had traveled to Alaska and ONLY done this tour I would have considered the trip a success.
