We went with our sons, ages 16 & 24. They were impressed.
The crew started the excursion with some cruise humor, and within fifteen minutes we were already seeing wildlife…seals and whales.
The trip was amazing. We saw three species of whales, sea otters, harbor seals, puffins, and more. The crew did an awesome job of taking care of the passengers. The ship was designed to get close to shore, so we saw even more things up-close.
We were able to see the Aialik Glacer calve, an uncommon opportunity. The crew even asked the passengers to share their videos.
Lunch was chicken/lettuce wrapped in a tortilla, with a bag of potato chips, a granola bar, and a mint. Drinks a week extra, but reasonably priced for a “captive audience.” Passengers received a fresh baked chocolate chip cookie near the end of the six-hour cruise.
I would do it again, but would bring extra snacks and bottled water.
The six-hour tour was just about right. Be sure to bring a stocking cap, light gloves, and squall or rain gear.
