The museum was clean, informative, and included a well-done movie. Our favorite part was the outside tour of the facility and track.

For a Lifelong Horse Lover & Horse Racing Fan, this was a dream come true. The Video in the Theater was incredible. I wanted to watch it over & over.

We were on a coach trip with a group of about 50 people. As a group we did a couple of activities before the museum and walking tour of Churchill Downs. Being close to Christmas, they had the "Reindeer run" setup for our group. This was a series of three races that the video of the race was run, we used fake money to bet on, to show how the betting windows and the system worked. The winner of the most money after the three races received a gift. For ones that have never bet at a horse track, looked at a race schedule book, or seen how odds change with the betting, it was an interesting event. The group gathered in the main hall of the museum and saw a movie of the greatest race - it was a 360 degree movie that tracked the history of the race and the staging of the day of the race. Our group went on a walking tour of the stands and the track, then had time to return and go through the museum and gift shop. There is a lot of history here - it was a good visit and one should include this on a trip to Louisville. Not sure about charges and times, as our group tour was already setup - I would suggest looking at their web site to verify this.
